NEW DELHI: South Korean mobile brand Samsung will unveil its Galaxy A8s smartphone on December 10 in China. The company shared its official poster on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo revealing its launch date. Notably, it will be the first phone with a screen hole. Meanwhile, Huawei has also announced the launch date of its Huawei Nova 4 to be December 17. Like the Galaxy A8s, Huawei Nova 4 too is reported to come with the in-display hole.

The poster shared on Weibo reads ‘Real Galaxy’ written on the phone. There is also a caption in Chinese below that roughly translates to ‘insights into the future’. The poster shows the phone with in-display hole at the top left corner. The hole is said to be housing the front camera.

Samsung Galaxy A8s: Expected specifications

The device is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset. It is said to come with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Galaxy A8s may also sport a triple camera setup at the back like the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018). The camera configuration is reported to include a setup of 25-megapixel + 5-megapixel + 10-megapixel camera sensors.

For selfies, it is expected to offer a 24-megapixel sensor. It is rumoured to feature a 6.39-inch screen and may pack a 3,400mAh battery. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A8s may ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

For those unaware, Samsung unveiled new Infinity displays at the Samsung Developers Conference (SDC) earlier this year in November. These included four different display panels. Three of them — Infinity-U, Infinity-V and Infinity-O — featured notch-like cutouts, while the other was dubbed as notchless New Infinity.
