NEW DELHI: The Office of Telecom on Tuesday permitted apps of telecom companies — Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and MTNL — for conducting 5G trials but none of them will be working with systems of Chinese entities.

The list of telecom gear makers accepted for trials consist of Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, C-DOT and Reliance Jio’s indigenously designed systems. This indicates that Chinese gear makers will not be portion of the 5G trials.
