The head of communications at Facebook parent Meta Platforms, John Pinette, is leaving the enterprise, the social media company explained late on Friday.
Chris Norton, vice president of worldwide communications, will go over the role on an interim foundation, a Meta spokesperson explained in an emailed statement to Reuters.
“John Pinette has left Meta. We are grateful for his favourable contributions throughout an extreme and considerable time in the firm’s historical past, and we desire him properly likely ahead,” the statement stated.
The spokesperson declined to say why Pinette was leaving, citing Meta plan of not commenting on staff matters.
The Wall Avenue Journal 1st claimed Pinette’s departure on Friday.
Pinette was appointed vice president of world communications in April 2019, in accordance to the firm’s web site.
In advance of joining the business, Pinette led communications for Gates Ventures, the private place of work and innovation lab of Bill Gates, for 5 years, and was the head of Asia Pacific communications for Google. He also held a variety of merchandise and corporate communications management positions at Microsoft.
