Researchers in Hong Kong create ‘soft robot’ built of magnetic slime

Researchers at The Chinese University of Hong Kong have produced a “smooth robotic” created of slime containing magnetic particles, which can be manipulated making use of exterior magnets.

The magnetic particles are toxic, but have theoretically been produced harmless to enter the human overall body immediately after becoming lined in a layer of silicone compound – while further safety screening will be wanted in the foreseeable future.

The crew in Hong Kong hope the slime will one particular day be applied to accumulate objects which have been unintentionally swallowed.

You can study a lot more about the team’s research listed here.
