
Apple co-founder Steve Careers was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Liberty in the course of a ceremony at the White Home on Thursday, recognizing his accomplishments as the head of Apple and Pixar, as effectively as his leading role at the Walt Disney Organization.

The medal was awarded just a week after the 15th anniversary of the launch of the unique Iphone.
The Presidential Medal of Liberty is the optimum civilian honor in the US. Basketball star Michael Jordan acquired the honor in 2016, as did enjoyment Oprah Winfrey in 2015 and feminist activist Gloria Steinem in 2013.
Other people have gained the award posthumously, such as civil rights large the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1977 and songs legend Elvis Presley and baseball wonderful Babe Ruth, both of those in 2018.
This year’s 17 recipients also contain two Olympic gold medal winners, gymnastics icon Simone Biles and soccer star Megan Rapinoe, as effectively as former US Rep. and gun-safety advocate Gabrielle Giffords and actor Denzel Washington.
