NASA’s Artemis I launch has officially been delayed till November

Hurricane Ian manufactured landfall in Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, but weakened into a tropical storm by the time it arrived at the Kennedy House Middle on Thursday. NASA says “there was no damage to Artemis flight components,” and that its facilities only suffered “minor drinking water intrusion.”

Subsequent screening of the rocket’s fueling method showed that the leak was nevertheless present, but at a additional “manageable” amount. Now that the rocket’s again at the VAB, NASA claims it will “prepare for added inspections” and retest the Flight Termination Method, which the Space Pressure works by using to demolish the rocket if it goes off class.
