
Twitter confirmed that it locked Kanye West, who now goes by “Ye,” out of his account right after he posted an anti-Semitic tweet on Saturday (by means of BuzzFeed News). “The account in query has been locked thanks to a violation of Twitter’s insurance policies,” Twitter spokesperson Katie Rosborough explained in a statement to The Verge.

This garnered a response from the American Jewish Committee (AJC), which slammed Ye for espousing anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.
It is unclear how long Ye won’t have access to his Twitter account, as the platform’s policies say it could spot a user’s profile in “read-only mode” for any place from 12 several hours to 7 times depending on the violation. This suggests that Ye simply cannot tweet, retweet, or like any posts till the lockout lifts, but other buyers can nonetheless interact with his content material.
