Mozilla acquires Active Replica to gas its metaverse strategy

Mozilla, the developer of the Firefox Net browser, has concluded the acquisition of the US-based virtual spaces and functions start-up Energetic Duplicate to bolster its metaverse approach.

Mozilla acquired the startups as it builds out Hubs, the firm’s virtual truth (VR) collaboration platform.

“Bringing onboard Lively Reproduction will assist us accelerate some of our most essential, in demand perform, which includes extra personalised subscription tiers, increasing the Hubs on-boarding knowledge, and introducing new conversation capabilities in the Hubs engine,” Imo Udom, Mozilla SVP reported in a blogpost.

“With each other, we see this as a critical possibility to carry even far more innovation and creativeness to Hubs than we could on your own. Active Replica, which was established in 2020, gives virtual party deals that involve custom made venue structure, function setting up, live amusement, and tech guidance.
